Crystalline Entity

Planet Sized crystalline living being with a strong psionic presence that seems to be prominent in at least 2 systems in the Orion Frontier, in the space between the Verge and the Zebulon’s Expanse (in the area the UPF calls the Coreward Fringe). It seems to “infect” an entire planet. There is evidence that ancient aliens have attempted to mine it. It has strong psychic presence and some suspect it has intelligence. It is unknown if this entity is natural or an ancient artifact.
