The Elemental Dimension of Magic – Spells of Farming is a new d20 Spell Supplement from Red Anvil Productions.
I see all kinds of things reviewing these PDFs, and this has got to be one of the more obscure. Spells of Farming is a magic supplement with spells that focus on farming.
From page # 1:
“The Jeshatan have mastered many kinds of spells, one of which are Spells of Farming.”
I am not sure who the Jeshatan are, but I assume this PDF is part of a larger project. This may be just a free preview to something larger, but I do not have the e-mail that had this attached any longer. If it is, please excuse my confusion.
There are a total of 12 spells. They include Bless Crops, Pest Control, Splice Crop, Epic Spells, and Improve Soil. They range from level 1 to level 12 and accomplish the many things a farmer would need for a successful crop. I would normally worry about power level and balance with spells, but in this case, I would have to ask… who would care about balance when farming?

“Farming is one of the twelve great schools of their Arcane Collection. ”
In conclusion, if this is a stand-alone PDF, I would have to ask why would anyone want to buy this. I really do not see any PCs wanting to have these spells, and for NPCs, unless you have a table of rules lawyer players, these are the type of spells a GM can say just happens. But I guess I run a different style game. If this is a preview of a larger project, then I am intrigued. If the writer is willing to put this much detail in something as mundane as farming, then I think it could be interesting to see what else there is.
