The Evolved Mechanons & The Morad
The Morad (Mor’Adus)
Intergalactic enforcers of some unknown region of the galaxy and an ally of the players in this Evolved campaign primary adventure. They had advanced technology including cybernetics.
In my SF setting, I already had the “Hegemony” and the Frontier (which was portrayed as the forgotten fragments of what formed the Hegemony) and I wanted to add in a new region with new races of my own. Inspired by the Star Trek: The Next Generation and the many episodes they brought in one-off alien races, I made this one. Like most of my aliens, it started with a drawing. I am not sure why I want with a centaur-like creature, I obviously could not draw them well. But I sort of combined a Texas Ranger with his horse in the idea and this is what I came up with.
[I never stat’ed them out.]
The Evolved
The Mechanons knew that changes had to be made if their “race” was to survive. Some factions even believed strongly that the Mechanon race was the perfect race and it was inevitable for the Machanons to dominate the universe (starting with Frontier Space). Others peacefully integrated within Frontier Space society, expecting the change would peacefully come about. The more militant factions began a project to rebuild the Mechanon race – evolve the race into on that was meant to rule.
Contact with the rogue Morad, Dimos, gave them access to ancient alien technology that helped them in their endeavors. From this came the Evolved, the new Mechanon super-race. The Evolved were built to take what was “rightfully Mechanon space” through sheer force and strategy. Designed with a strong military purpose in mind, the evolved were quite intimidating.
The Evolved divide themselves into military ranks and into units. Their whole system a 4 bit binary system. 15 ranks is high command or 1111 in binary. If the Evolved Rank has zeroes in the lower half, the individual Rank is officer. If the Evolved Rank has zeroes in the upper half, the individual Rank is considered enlisted. mid-rank or special forces. The Evolved units are based on a 8 level binary pyramid with 64 bits in it, with each level representing the type of design of Evolved.
