The Corporate Crown of Gorud
Suspended above the turbulent atmosphere of Gorud VI, Borath Station is the administrative and commercial heart of TramCorp’s operations throughout the Gorud System.
Borath Station serves as the principal commercial port of entry and customs-processing hub for the Gorud System. Owned and operated by TramCorp, the station oversees much of the interstellar traffic entering and leaving the system, including passenger manifests, cargo inspections, mineral exports, and commercial licensing. Although the Five Mesa Cities of Gorudas have developed their own governments and competing economic interests, their reliance on Borath Station gives TramCorp considerable influence over their prosperity without requiring direct political control. For all their rivalries and ambitions, the five factions share one unavoidable reality: their gateway to the greater Expanse is owned by TramCorp.
The enormous installation serves as a regional headquarters, overseeing the corporation’s considerable investments on Gorudas, including the extraction, refinement, and export of the valuable minerals found beneath its corrosive seas.
Although the mining cities of Gorudas have developed their own identities, competing economic interests, and political ambitions, TramCorp retains significant influence through its infrastructure, mining rights, transport networks, and commercial agreements.
Borath Station is where those interests converge.
The station’s most distinctive feature is its immense transparent dome, enclosing an elevated corporate district. Within this protected environment are the regional executive offices, diplomatic suites, residential towers, commercial establishments, and administrative facilities responsible for coordinating TramCorp’s activities throughout the system.
Beneath the dome lies the industrial body of Borath Station: a vast arrangement of armored habitation modules, processing facilities, engineering compartments, docking infrastructure, and cargo-handling installations.
Its enormous hangars accommodate everything from small corporate shuttles to heavily laden interplanetary transports. External landing platforms and docking structures support the continuous movement of personnel, security vessels, and commercial traffic.
Borath is not merely an office complex. It is effectively a corporate city.
Relationship with Gorudas
Borath Station has a particularly important relationship with the five competing mesa cities of Gorudas.
While those settlements conduct their own affairs and compete for prestige, resources, and economic advantage, TramCorp maintains its system-level administrative presence from Borath.
The station is consequently a regular destination for city representatives, corporate negotiators, industrial contractors, and investors seeking access to Gorudas’s lucrative mineral industry.
The annual Fivefold Crucible also creates considerable activity aboard Borath, as commercial interests, sponsors, and wealthy visitors arrive in the system.
There is, however, a subtle distinction between the two locations.
On Gorudas, TramCorp must contend with five increasingly independent urban powers.
