Voyage of the Doomed (Mythic Con West 2024)
System: Savage Worlds
Date: March 2, 2024
The big one – Savage Bloodshadows, The Voyage of the Doomed. I considered this the big one because I used my tramp steamer terrain, which everyone was impressed with. I was too busy running the game to take pictures, however. This was based on an adventure written in the Bloodshadows Fires of Marl short adventure published by the original publisher, West End Games. The interesting and challenging thing to handle as a GM in this adventure was (1) the adventure purposely split the party between two dimensions and (2) had the potential for some time travel and rearranging/fixing events in time. This involved a little railroading but, in the end, the players appreciated it. However, because much of the action took place in the hold and not on the deck, the ship terrain really did not get used for combat as I thought it would. This was true also in the play test I ran a few weeks before, but I think it was because I was glazing over the combat in the playtest. Either way, though, I did feel like the boat added a lot to the game and I think the players thought so too. The final phase was done in part in a abstract dramatic task and a good time was had by all.
One of my players took some pics however..
