Changes
With the new (Advanced) timeline comes change to many aspects of Star Frontiers, including political relations, technology, and society. The Star Law Agency is no different. From 111 fy until the beginning of the Third Sathar War, the Star Law was working closely with the Dominion Law Arm. Soon after the war, they the Star Law Agency of Alliance Security (SLAS) was formed as a permanent link and a merging between the two agencies. With the coming of the First Frontier Expansion, many changes to the Star Law role in exploration were made. In fact their role was all but rubbed out. They are to only enforce the Alliance non-interference law, and many other laws restricting exactly how the corporations can explore and use new planets, but the exploration, and first – in scouting is all done by the corporations.
Star Law, through SLAS is now a multi-jurisdictional multi-branched law enforcement and counter-intelligence agency that deals in primarily planetary problems and inter-system problems that threaten the internal security of the Frontier and the livelihood of the population at large. The key word in their doctrine is internal. But there are also problems that are considered internal by the Star Law and should be covered by a smaller law enforcement organization, like planetary police (not always the same as the militia but occasionally is), or corporate security, and any freelance business, or any combination there of. But when the problem is deemed large enough to be covered by Star Law, Star Law can recruit anybody and everybody from the smaller organizations to help.
