February 25, 2023 Ran a playtest at my house, for RonCon Spring 2023. I took two adventures in Star Frontierman #1, an old fanzine for Star Frontiers and combined them into one story. I tried to dig deep and really capture the heart of Star Frontiers while at the same time integrate my most recent…
Vrusk society is broke down into 3 Castes and 3 Ranks or Roles. The combination of each defines what role in society the Vrusk plays. The Bonus Edge and Hindrance are taken at no cost at character generation. (revised factions from SDF) Humans of the Frontier of the Zebulon Expanse are a mystery. They do not seem to have a home world but seem to have been found scattered through out the region. It is assumed by many that an ancient alien race brought them here. For much of the Frontier’s history, humans have…
Homeworlds Flaginnor System: Flagor Dralasites originate from the watery world of Flaginnor. This planet is more than 90% covered with water, with only a few landmasses dotting the surface. Most of the animal life on Flaginnor consists of amphibians and fish, with a handful of reptilian creatures. The history of Flaginnor is a peaceful one….
With me diving deeper into SF with Savage Worlds, I decided to revisit some of my ideas previously covered in the True 20 version of Star Drive Frontiers. With that, I decided to revise the timeline to fit that setting and expand on humans a little more. I hated how they screwed up Zebulon and…
Stumbled on this movie on Tubi. Saw that Claudia Black was in it (big fan!) and watched the trailer. It intrigued me. The style of the movie had a strong Alien crossed with 2001: Space Odyssey and I liked the dark tone. So I sat and watched it, not really thinking I would write about…
There are certain movies I watch for this series that are not half bad, while others are truly terrible. Parasite is more the latter than the former only because it was so poorly executed and acted. It has a decent premise but lacked imagination and production in the execution of that premise. Parasite is a 1982…
One division of Star Law that very few talk about is the super secret Psi-Corps -established in 108 fy. Star Law, challenged by a new breed of crime – Psionic Crime – was forced to delve into the dark and mysterious realm of Psionics. The prevalence of Psionics in the underworld was limited until recently….
Looking to start 2023 on a new gaming footing by resurrecting this campaign in a new format. I am going to break down key aspects of the campaign into a trilogy of single session missions. The pre-generated characters will be agents of a joint UPF military and Star Law task force to take out the…
November 11, 2022 I upgraded this with 8 players and a little more in the first combat. Added Visitor super soldiers, but never really pursued that storyline. I really did not have the opportunity because their critical failures were driving the stories more than anything else. This was a great session. Everyone embraced their characters…
