Hardcore science fiction is very hard to pull off from a role playing game perspective because realism tends to bore the average player. Yea, I know, there are those that prefer it and I can respect that. However, in my experience, the average player does not want to go through the mind numbing realization that…

B-Movie Inspiration: Dark Space (2013)
Sci-fi is my thing, I make no bones about it. I love a good story of group of people exploring the unknown, finding alien monsters, and learning that the universe is much bigger than they thought. Browsing Netflix, I found yet another unexpected gem of a movie – Dark Space. It is a low budget…
B-Movie Inspirations: Infini (2015)
Every once in a while, I come across a movie that came in under the radar; that might not get over 60% on Rotten Tomatoes, that I found well written and the story is well told and that I really like. I am not sure what that says about me but there have been some key movies that have done that for me. Pandorum is one of those movies. It was not well received but I really loved thsi8 movie. So much so, that I bought the movie. The Outpost is another. Sunshine is another, however that one has better reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

Future Idea: Dragonstar has always been a great setting but was tied to a flowed 3rd edition D&D. I want to take it to the next level and convert it to D&D 5e. There seems to be at least an grassroots movement to do this. It would totally work. Would have to start with what…
Savage Star*Drive Frontiers
Future idea: With the new sci-fi setting, The Last Parsec, I am really considering moving my SDF setting to that. Much of it can be converted as much of it is inspired by Star Frontiers. I just to convert a few races. The Weren might be a challenge but maybe somebody did that. May post my notes…

Tech: Federanium Power Armor
At one point, my players got ahold of Federanium armor from an alien race, the Shri’ik. The overall story arch of this campaign was that this alien race knew how to forge Federanium, using Psionics. They decided to convert the armor into powered armor. I never really gave them stats of the armor but it…
More ASF Content
I found more content that I plan to post here. Some by me, some by friends including some stuff by John Reavis.
Lords of Creation Revised
At one point, I got ahold of a cheap copy of a game called Lords of Creation by Avalon Hill. It was a pretty crappy game with a pretty hoaky concept but I thought it would be fun to create a Star Frontiers version of it. This is an rough draft of some of the work…
